Diffusion Anomaly in a three dimensional lattice gas

چکیده
We investigate the relation between thermodynamic and dynamic properties of an associating lattice gas (ALG) model. The ALG combines a three dimensional lattice gas with particles interacting through a soft core potential and orientational degrees of freedom. From the competition between the directional attractive forces and the soft core potential results two liquid phases, double criticality and density anomaly. We study the mobility of the molecules in this model by calculating the diffusion constant at a constant temperature, D. We show that D has a maximum at a density ρmax and a minimum at a density ρmin < ρmax. Between these densities the diffusivity differs from the one expected for normal liquids. We also show that in the pressure-temperature phase-diagram the line of extrema in diffusivity is close to the liquid-liquid critical point and it is partially inside the temperature of maximum density (TMD) line.

Lattice Boltzmann modeling of two component gas diffusion in solid oxide fuel cell
In recent years, the need for high efficiency and low emission power generation systems has made much attention to the use of fuel cell technology. The solid oxide fuel cells due to their high operating temperature (800 ℃ -1000 ℃) are suitable for power generation systems.Two-component gas flow (H2 and H2O) in the porous media of solid oxide fuel cell’s anode have been modeled via lattice Boltz...
متن کاملDensity Anomaly in Core-Softened Lattice Gas
A two dimensional lattice gas model with ”core-softened” potential is investigated. Two liquid phases and density anomaly are found. The demixing phase transition between the two liquid phases end at a tricritical point that is also the terminus of a critical line. The density anomaly is related to this continuous line.

In this article, a two dimensional pore scale model of polymeric fuel cell, which is promising of a clean and renewable energy production, is presented here. Let reactive gases behave as an ideal gas; inhomogeneous anisotropic structure of the gas diffusion layer, is contemplated as a random generated circular porous media. Lattice Boltzmann method is applied to inquire the fluid flow and mass ...
متن کاملLiquid polymorphism and density anomaly in a three-dimensional associating lattice gas.
The authors investigate the phase diagram of a three-dimensional associating lattice gas (ALG) model. This model combines orientational icelike interactions and "van der Waals" that might be repulsive, representing, in this case, a penalty for distortion of hydrogen bonds. These interactions can be interpreted as two competing distances, making the connection between this model and continuous i...
متن کاملExact Analysis of a Lattice Gas on the 3-12 Lattice with Two- and Three-Site Interactions
Exact results are obtained for a lattice gas on the 3-12 lattice with twoand three-site interactions. By using a decoration transformation, we map the lattice gas into one on the honeycomb lattice with pure two-site interactions. This procedure permits us to draw exact results for the original 3-12 lattice gas. In particular, we obtain its exact two-phase boundary, and confirm the fact that an ...
